I need help in determining the thickness of an end plate bolted to a 14"WN FLG 300lb for a hydrostatic test using water at 14" STD.WALL A53 Gr.B pipe at a temperature of 60°F at 240psi.
Since there are a number of calculations to perform could you please let me have the necessary formulas to complete the other sizes.

Thanks for any help you can supply.

Why don't you get a 14" 300# blind flange?

That one has got just about the thickness you need plus little extra. You could soon spend the saving if you are trying to calculate and fabricate one of your own.

My calculation says 1.40" thick using 1.5mm compressed sheet gasket and material A105 (compared to 2.12" for a standard flange)

regards
Mogens
