I was designing a building with shear wall planted on a girder beam using etabs, what I observed is the wall require heavy size(due to heavy shear) immediately after it is planted ,above that floor the normal size only working... can any one explain y its so... girderbeam size is 750x1500 and 24 story building girder beam is resting on two columns of sire 1200x750 on which the wall will rise...
