Piston materials: MMC, ceramic info search 2

I'm looking for quality information (websites, journals, etc) on piston materials.
Specifically, metal matrix composites, ceramics, and design constraints of these materials in the piston application.
Any links to companies that manufacture such pistons would be useful too.

Most road cars use cast aluminium alloy pistons, racing cars might use forged pistons. I have never heard of the above materials you mentioned being used by OE manufactures.

Toyota has been using MMC pistons in Diesel engines for some time now. Kolbenschmidt is one manufacturer of these pistons. For more information, check out:
