Piping ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API

Hi All,

I need to learn and asking your kindness to share any knowledge about when we have to consider use the pipe type. I coming from refinery world which usualy using ASME 31.1 and 31.3, but since work in offshore, just found the PID as attached which is using API 5L material till the choke valve and after that using ASTM material.
My question is :
1. when we can consider to use API or ASTM material? If there is some ebook pls kindly share the link to me able to download also.
2. ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API.....some one can explain what is their each margin or regulation especially in Piping.

First of all, don't use PIDs to construct piping.

Different materials are required for different codes and pressure ratings and types of facilities.

Well piping is API, because it is a high pressure well production type of facility not covered by ASME B31.1 or 3, or 4 or 8.

Design codes tell you which material you can choose. The piping engineer selects a material from those materials that are allowed.
