Dear All,
I was wondering if anyone on this site is aware of a pipeline standard for the transport of hexavalent chromium in an aqueous solution? Are there design considerations for material selection, single vs double wall, etc.? Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Regards.

Any of the liquid or all purpose pipeline codes should apply.

Some codes categorise the fluids into different types depending on toxicity, flammability etc, some don't.

Choice of material will be up to the designer to be suitable for the fluid being transported.

Very few pipelines are double containment and there is AFAIK, no requirement for those in the pipeline design codes.

National and local or company safety requirements may require certain things for certain fluids, but this needs to be specific to the location.

There are pipelines all over the world transporting all sorts of chemicals which if they escape can cause death and injury, but with the right design, these risks can be reduced to a level where society ( or the government on their behalf) accepts the risk.
