Pipe Load & valve design

Hi,
ASME B16.34 & API 6D ask to consider pipe load for valve design but didn't specify how to use them. If customer has given bending stress as a design condition how to use it for design of single piece and 2/3 piece valve body? Any illustration will be highly helpful.

Hi, not sure about ASME but in Europe EN 13445 (equivalent to ASME VIII Div 2) gives a formula to convert external moment to equivalent axial action
In the formula the d3 is approximate the PCD
