I just noticed that in making new parts on this new computer (new install, etc.) the PhotoWorks colors are not displayed when viewing or working with my part--until it is rendered. This seems to indicate something is toggled off that I'm used to having on. Any ideas? All parts are default gray except my previously-created parts from a different installation and computer (system setting?).

Thanks,

first check it out whether u loaded the photoworks addins.
for this tools-addins-select photoworks.
just select interactive rendering in photoworks tool bar.
now u can c the material for ur components.

murugansubham,

Yes, thanks for the reply. PhotoWorks is up and running, and renders the materials/colors fine. However, the result of adding a color to a part is not seen while I'm working with the part in the SolidWorks window--it's merely standard default gray.

So I'm figuring something got switched off somewhere to not reveal the PhotoWorks materials in the SW workspace.

What SP are you running?

If I remember right there was a bug in SP0.0 I think that dealt with that... but I'm not sure if it's the exact problem that your seeing.

This may solve your problem. PhotoWorks/Options...system options. Overwrite SW properties. Is it checked? If not that is your problem.

Scott,

SP2.1 Also, it worked fine before, but this is a new installation on a new system.

rockguy,

Yes, Overwrite SW properties is checked. There are some others there I have checked and not checked to see if I can find a difference, but have not yet noticed any.

Any other ideas?
