Photoworks Lighting

I just got Photoworks and am working on a couple of projects using the manual. My first trys turned out okay but now I am having the same problem on all of my trys.

I have white plastic parts, some with clear caps, that I am trying to light. It seems that no matter how I move my lights I get parts in shadow and the white is dark gray. I've even gotten the base to turn totally white from light but it did not affect the object.

What am I doing wrong or where else should I look?
