How do I create a new material in Photoworks 2007 similar to a mesh in which parts of the material is removed? I'm trying to create a slot pattern in a rendering without adding the slot pattern in the model.

Thanks in advance

Chris

You can create graphics files (raster--bitmap of some sort) within Photoshop or other programs you may like. The best choice I've seen for doing what you'd like to do is to save the bitmap file as either PNG or TIFF--since you can generate transparent pixels within the file. The good thing about this is that you can make all pixels that reside between the lattice of mesh transparent and thus apply it to a surface for rendering as a decal within PhotoWorks.

An alternate to saving the mesh bitmap with transparent pixels is to save a bitmap of your mesh in a high-resolution file and subtract out the pixels you don't need by color within the PhotoWorks dialog when applying the mesh as a decal.
