Phosphorus Removal without Filtration

We have a 1.25 MGD domestic wastewater extended air plant and will need to meet a 1.8 mg/L T-P limit. Can we meet this by alum addition ahead of the clarifiers without filtration?

You will be able to achieve this if your clarifiers are conservatively sized at 600 gallon per day per square foot for peak hourly flow.
