Our last SolidWorks User Group Meeting of 2007 is this Thursday, Nov 1st, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Auer Precision Company in Mesa, Arizona.
A map and directions to Auer Precision can be found at We will be meeting in the upstairs training room of building 2.
The agenda will be Modeling For Manufacturing.....
What are good modeling and design techniques for a given manufacturing process. Zach Wilsterman will talk about what are best practices that make his life programming his CNC mills easier. I will talk about what will help your sheet metal design go through the manufacturing process smoother. If I can get SolidWorks 2008 loaded up on my computer we will show the new DFMxpress module in SW08 that helps identify areas in your model that will be difficult to manufacture using conventional manufacturing methods.
Anyone who has some modeling for manufacturing tips they would like to share with the group are encouraged to bring some models along and we can discuss them with the group.
We will also talk a bit about SolidWorks World 2008, that is fast approaching, in January at the San Diego Convention Center.
We will be ordering pizzas and will have soft drinks.
Please RSVP to either me or Zach Wilsterman so we can plan to have enough pizzas and sodas for everyone. Our contact info can be found at
Cheers,
Anna Wood and Zach Wilsterman
