Good day!

I'm just confused about the anchor reinforcement option in ram connect. Can I use the existing pedestal reinforcements as anchor reinforcement, I'm having large values of breakout in shear even though my pedestal is already a significantly large size, but when I check the anchor reinforcement option, the value for breakout is drastically lessened.

Thank you!

Definitely use the search function on the site; there is bound to be some past action.

1) If your existing pedestal rebar would provide reinforcing such that it would match the detailing requirements, size, and location of rebar required for anchor reinforcement then, certainly, I'd have no problem with you using he existing rebar for that purpose.

2) I think that step #1 is getting a good handle on just what RAM is assuming the reinforcing disposition to be in this situation so that you can know if you'll be doing that same thing in the field.
