PE Materials and Metallurgy

Hello all:

I am appearing for PE Materials exam for first time. I have following questions for this exam -

1) Is anyone taking the exam in October 2012?
2) How do you prepare for the exam? There are some books mentioned by TMS, you just take those books and start reading. Is there more efficient way to prepare?
3) What type of exam questions are there in the exam and how much is general passing (70%) or so?
4) If some one has passed this exam before, can you please guide me through this process.
