PDM Global Part Change 1

I am looking for a way to do a global change in PDM.
I need to replace 1 part with another in many assemblies. There is no physical difference between the parts except color.
The only option I saw in PDM was "REPLACE". Looks like a name change only.
Any suggestions? Thank you
