I'm trying to pattern a line that is driven by points that are patterned across a curve so as each point is in a different location the line that follows it will be a different length. I need the lengths of each of those lines so that I can drive another pattern that will follow those lines but vary based on an equation that uses that length value for each line.

I tried creating reference dimensions within the sketch hoping those were available to be used in a expression but they don't appear as a parameter. I then created a "length measurement" and had the length measurement object pattern with the lines but the measurement object doesn't appear to change with each instance of the pattern. According to the help file, measurement objects are pattern-able which would make me assume they would change with each instance they were associated to, but I can't find that to be the case.

Am I doing something wrong or can someone see a better way to accomplish the end goal or the equation driven by the length of the line based on the pattern instance? I'm using NX 9.
