I have a client who wants my insurance to cover pastrendered services. What is meant by pastrendered services?

Without any other information, I'd guess he's looking for coverage for services you'd rendered in the past. Have you rendered any services to this client in the past?

I would guess the client forgot a space or hyphen, and its supposed to be past rendered services, as in services that were rendered (performed) in the past (presumably, from before you had that insurance). You should really just ask the client what particular services they want your insurance to cover.

past rendered? Services rendered in the past? I think what you're talking about is also referred to as Prior Acts Coverage.
A 'claims made' policy will typically have a retroactive date that is the point in time when coverage starts. 'Prior Acts' is meant to cover before that date, or perhaps before you had an insurance policy.
Of course, it's best to clarify with your insurance carrier and client.

If you're taking on a large project with this client (or you're signing a standing service agreement that may cover large projects in the future), they probably want to know that a lawsuit some time in the future from a project you performed in the past won't put you out of business and leave them with 85% drawings on a $300 million building. Large would, of course, be relative to the client.

Professional liability insurance is a "claims made" basis for insurance. A claim can be made whenever the policy is active. To have coverage after the policy is inactive, you have to get "tail coverage". Professional liability providers will not cover you for past services rendered unless you had their coverage at the time.
