Where does Solid Edge store the "Parts List" information once you have saved it?

I need to distribute this information to our design group and up until now we've been entering it long hand into each computer and saving it there.

This is OK if we have to do it only once. But we've run into occasions where we've had to tweak the parts list once or twice and this causes us to issue a re-write to that section of our CAD Standards manual.

Hi,

.../Solid Edge VXX/Program/Template/Reports/Draftlist.txt

I believe you can also change Template location in Tools/Options/File locations to point to a copy of the template folder pasted on your server so that all your users use the same templates (new files, bill of material, hole tables, ...)

NB: Don't delete the original template folder on the local machines.

Thanks for the great imput!
Posting the "approved" template Parts List setup on the server so that all could access it is pretty much what I was aiming for.

Hi,

Can you check if it's really using the draftlist.txt file from your server (by having different entries in the local and the shared files). I'm not sure now... I read in another forum that it worked only with templates and not with the files in the report folder.

If you don't mind, please let everybody know about your findings.

OK,

I checked it myself and SE still uses the text files in the original Reports folder. What you specify in File locations is only for the par, psm, pwd, asm, dft templates.

On the other hand, you can put the template folder on your server and manage to have all your users use the same text files in reports (parts list, weld symbols,...) by doing the following:

Change the value for the registry entry below: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version 16\TemplatePath
to the network share path
