Good morning,

I have a problem with the parts list in my drawing. I'm using NX6.0.5.3 on Windows 7 Professional. The problem is that the quantities on the top assemblies are showing everything in that assembly and the subassy's. For instance, there are 4 nutplates in the -1 assy, 2 nutplates in the -15 subassy and 2 nutplates in the -17 subassy. However, the bill is showing a quantity of 8 nutplates in the -1 assy, when it should only be 4. How do I stop it from counting the parts in the subassy's?

Thanks!

Al

With your drawing open, select the Parts List note, press MB3 and select the 'Edit Levels...' item. When the 'Edit Levels' dialog bar comes up, toggle ON the icon labeled 'Top Level Only' and then select the Green 'checkmark'.

John,

Doing that removed the components from all of the assemblies and just left the -1, -3 & -13 assemblies in the parts list. I have attached a pdf of the BOM. I want to keep the components in the BOM, but I don't need the components in the subassemblies to be counted in top level assemblies.

Thanks,

Al

What you're talking about sounds very much like what the industry calls an 'indented' Bill of Material, something which our current Parts List function does NOT support.
