I have an assembly with muliple parts. Some of the parts in the drawing need to be phantom lines and some need to be solid.how do I obtain this effect?

Under the "layout" tab, select "component display". Select the component, then enter, then "phantom transparent" then "done."

View - Drawing Display - Component Display. Then Style and select the Component - ok - Phantom... done
Basically the same procedure as rebo described
