part split problems

i'm having a problem with part split. i am making a round jar with some embossed figures all around it. so how did i make it. i place one of the figures in the it's place and then i combine it with the other part. then i made a polar array in 360 degrees. until were there was no problems. but i need to cut alf o the part. so i made a part split but mechanical can not do it. i belive it's because two of the embossed figures stay on the midle of the cuting section. so as they are the same figures all arround mechanical doesn't no how to do it. it makes lot's of time processing the information and then it crashes. can anyone help me?
