I have an elbow that I've used multiple times in multiple routing assemblies and its never caused me problems.

In my current drawing however, this elbow won't show up in every view of a drawing created from the assembly. It'll be in the top, left, and isometric views, but it won't be in a front view. I've checked the hide/show list in my tree from clicking on the view, and then going to the properties manager hide/show tab of that view, and it is empty. I've tried clicking on the particular part in the view, and the only option is to hide it.

I can mouse over the area and the edges of the part highlight, I can ever right click over the area and open the elbow, I just can't see it.

Is there an option that I'm missing?

Try this. Shade the view and Unshade it back.
Also toggle HLR and Hidden lines shown once.

I don't understand it, but changing it to shaded, then normal, then to show hidden lines, and back like you suggested got it to work.

Consequently, if I recheck the "Use Parent Style" checkbox, the elbow disapears and I have to do the shading over again.

We have the same problem, although we work over a network ( i know not ideal) getting a PDM in Jan 2010, Its just loses the reference detail. Opening ithe model from the view also will work as it defines the model detail again and up dates.

Yeah, I'm working over a network as well but opening the model from the view wasn't working for me either. It has worked when pipes or tubes have refused to show up in a view, but in those cases it didn't show in all views whereas this elbow shows up in every view but one.
