Has anyone seen a part loaded in catia. and the tree is gray the names in the tree are a square box and is grayed out and the part is gray?

You might be in Visualiztion mode - Turn off Tools -- Options -- Infrastructure -- Product Structure -- Cache Management -- work with cache system

I've seen this when I didn't have a certified graphics card (actually, my graphics card at the time only had 16mb on it).
