I'd like to add on Taffcad suggestion, I make a layer called 0-VP ...with the zero up front it'll be listed in the layer callout up front and you won't have to pan thru all the layers to get to it & turn it off and on. I don't like to use defpoint layer ...it's not immediate apparent that anything on this layer will not be printed out ...when you are looking at the dwg. file. I also make 2 other layers 0-KEY & 0-ML. 0-KEY is an exact copy of the viewport in the model space, I normally keep this layer turned off, but IF you need to regenerate the viewport for any reason, you can exactly copy it again ...also good for referencing other viewport in the model. The 0-ML is a matchline in paperspace. It would be nice to use different linetypes on the viewport edge, but since you can't I use this 0-ML layer. And again with the zero up front it's listed where it's easily turned off or on. My $0.02 anyway! ...Mark
