Hello,

Can anyone tell me what the different is between a panelview 550
using DH+ or using Remote I/O.
How is the communication with this difference with a
PLC5?

remote i/o uses a logical rack addressing scheme(rack,slot.word/bit) and DH+ allows you to access via tag name, direct word/bit address.
hope this helps.

Just to add a little to rubha's explanation: With remote I/O each button on the panelview will be addressed like the I/O on the slc (I:16/4) and anything that is displayed with a tag will have be assigned an output (O:16/4). If you want to access internal registers then you will have to use a "Block Transfer" in the ladder logic (the panelview will also have to be setup for the block transfers too). The panelview is assigned an address just like an I/O card.

With the DH+ you can access the internal registers in a plc directly ( B3/23 ) by assigning the panelview a node number. Hope this helps.

Hello Steve,

How send I for example B3/23 with DH+ communication?
With the message instruction in the ladder-diagram?

Kind regards,
