I am using Abaqus CAE to model a composite material in 3d and need to apply periodic boundary conditions. In order to do this my mesh must be exactly the same on corresponding faces. Is there anyway of using CAE to ensure this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make a structured mesh and add apply a size to the edges to what you require after you've apllied the global seeds. There's an option to ensure the mesh fits the edge sizes.

Thanks corus, I think you're right but my geometry was too tedious to partition so I've created my mesh through patran by meshing one face and copying the mesh to the corresponding side and using the surface meshes to mesh the solids.
