Painting Microwave Communication Dome?

We have line-of-sight 2.4GHZ communication between two buildings on opposite sides of a USA Interstate, both need repainting. What happens if the contractor paints the domes covering the microwave system?

I would think it depends on whether or not the paint or pigment in the paint is transparent to 2.4GHZ microwaves.

I doubt if the contractor will have any idea, so it is probably better not to paint that part.
