Painting inside of the Socket & effect on welding 1

Hello to all of you
I am in process of ordering fabrication of few 10"-FF drip rings with 1/2" Bleed (located at 6 O'clock!)since i'm surface treating and painting the DR itself with Aluminium, I was wondering if it is possible to surface treat and paint inside of the Socket hole(for the 1/2" Bleed nipple)or the paint shall have negative effect on the socket weld?.

Mask the area of the socket weld location - you do not want any paint where welding will be performed.
