I would to know which is the criteria for providing more or less amount of lubrication in a cylinder and the packings of a reciprocating compressor.
Is ther any relationship with the cyinder diameter or working pressure?

any help will be appreciated.

thanks

Marc

It is directly related to piston diameter as it is necessary to have lubricant layer formed on mating/sliding surfaces.

Amount also depends on the other things - as working pressure is initially determined, dimensions of supply assembly impose demands on oil pump perfomance (i.e. pump must handle pressure/flow combination that is necessary to have proper oil circulation).
