I am currently helping others to investigate the use of ozone treatment of groundwater to remove organic contaminants. We have been using ozone and peroxide and it seems to work well on the contaminants, but our Bromate levels are too high. We have tried using Ferrous Chloride (instead of the peroxide)and Ammonium sulfate (to control the Bromate formation). This worked for the Bromate, but now our contaminants aren't being treated. Can anyone tell me why this would be, and also the reaction mechanism between ozone, ammonium sulfate and ferrous chloride? What are the byproducts? Thanks,
