There are a few posts on this topic, but haven't seen any definitive answers, so just seeing if there are any opinions out there.
I am making a gas system, and trying to size the tubing from a Mass Flow Controller (MFC) to a Burner where Oxygen and a Fuel Gas (methane) will be mixed and burnt. The gasses get mixed at the surface of the burner. The connecting tubing is 316L, Electropolished Stainless Steel.
I'm just wanting to know what velocities within the tubing system would be OK for Oxygen and the Fuel Gas. The distance from the MFC to the burners is about 40 ft with a few 90 degree bends i.e. bent tubing - not elbow fittings.
Is there some guidelines out there for different gasses and recommended velocities?
Most probably covered this in school, but wasn't paying attention at the time...
