I would like to find an affordable, yet easy to use with WIN95, program to calculate the ampacity of various overhead conductors - AAAC, ACSR, etc. - for various temperatures and altitudes. Can anyone recommend such a program?
Thanks!
If you are looking for a program that is designed for bare overhead distribution conductors, there is a basic program included with IEEE 738, but it is DOS based.
they have software called PLS-CADD/LOADS that performs thermal ratings of OH line conductors. Also the old Westinghouse T&D Manual goes through calculations using Schurig and Frick formulas to determine thermal rating of bare OH lines.
