dear all

could generator cause motor to trip on overload and underload faults,,,i am talking about Electrical submersible motors that is running by VSD OR switchboard

It depends.

--------------------
Ohm's law
Not just a good idea;
It's the LAW!

If Generator is not able to supply motor starting current, the motor may trip on overload trigered due to prolonged start.
During normal run, if generator is not able to maintain voltage at its terminals, this could lead to motor overload due to under voltage at its terminals.
Underload trip could happen if the foot valve is choked with sand etc. and is not specific to the source (mains or generator).
