I don't think so. They own STAAD, bought them a few year ago. So unfortunately I think you are stuck.
 
With autocad products you can theoretically transfer a license if you "buy" the company with the license(s). Autodesk does not like this but they have acknowledged that it is allowed. I considered doing this when I closed my small company. My point is that other software licenses may transfer the same way or even more simply. You might see if there is any way to purchase a license through a company that is selling off a seat. In my opinion a software license should be viewed as an asset of a company (since I had to pay city tangible taxes on it) and should be transferable to a third party.

...just my two cents on the ongoing debate over the enforce-ability of these endless EULA agreements.
