I am trying to demonstrate the oscillation that occurs when applying a weight to a beam using FEA in Algor. I have modelled the beam and the hanging weight however I need to know how to measure the oscillation as if the weight had just been placed upon the beam. In the past I have simply applied a weight and measured the strain so I am not even sure if this is possible? I hope i explained myself well enough!
