There is another recent thread similar to this, but I am looking for something that is very simple.

I only need to solve 2D plane strain/stress problems where I would create the input deck with Excel and a text file. I would then read the output back into Excel. Orthotropic material capability is needed.

Since I don't need a pre and post processor, there might be a simple solver that could do this in fortran.

I am thinking the input deck would look something like that for Nastran. Actually, now that I think about it, Nastran (the original) is open source and may do the trick?

Not sure exactly the terms of use, but the fortran source is available for FEAPpv is available.

It looks like an interesting software, but I don't think I will be able to redistribute it for professional use (from what I can see).

I have been looking at SAP IV recently, but it only supports isotropic materials, so it won't work.

Thanks though. I may email the owner just to be sure.
