I need to show different views of an enclosure in the same drawing. The problem is that the hinged door of the assembly needs to be open in one view (iso view) and closed in all the normal views.

Is there a 'good practice' way of doing this?

I have none of the advanced assm modules, just the basic Pro/Engineer 2001 package.

Use the family table functionality of the pro/e,and use both generic and its instance to create the drawing.

Creating instances is a good way to do this. All you have to do is vary the angular dimension that (should) control the position of the door/feature for the new instance.

Once in the drawing, Use View>Dwg models>Add to link the instance to the drawing and display it.

If you don't know how to create instances, I suggest additional training or extensive browsing of the PTC knowledge base online.
