I am looking at plans from 1964 with a steel deck callout of
"1 1/2D-16J-16 steel deck". The J might be a U- can't tell.

This deck appears to be spanning 24 feet and has a mechanical unit on top.

Does anyone know what this deck is?

That's what it sounds like- but that can't clear span 24'

Might be a cellular (two piece) deck with 16 gage deck as pieces. But if it's only 1 1/2 inch deep, it won't span 24 ft.
Check SlideRuleEra's website (I don't have his address here) for Robertson Catalogue Information. Maybe it's 4 1/2 inches deep.

What year were the plans from?

Would the 16J be a steel joist designation?

Thank you everyone- Very Helpful as always

I suspect the 1 1/2D note may have been a typo. It probably was intended to be a 6" deep X 16 gage deck. I am going to have the contractor field verify dimensions
