Has anyone come across this material spec before:

Cyanide harden SDP 46
Parts of it are obvious. This spec came off a 30+ year old Volvo GM Heavy Truck drawing. We used to source this through a company that is out of business but not since 2000 (We bought way too many then).
Is this a GM spec? I need to replace it with a more modern callout but would like to have some property information before doing so.
