I am certainly not a geotechnical Engineer so I was wondering about this specific thing. How do we get the OCR for the soil we plan to build on? I suspect it comes from a lab but is there a specific process or should I just say, "I am out of it, it comes from a lab"?
Thanks

OCR in clays usually from lab edometric tests but also from CPTU in-situ tests or dilatometers.

OCR in sands is trickier, from depositional history and from dilatometer in situ tests that I know
