Hello,

I am trying to make a copy of a solid body. In NX8.5 I use Instance Geometry and I select two csys to make the copy.
In NX9, I can't find the command Instance Geometry. Command finder did not show it in the results.

I tried using Pattern Geometry using the option "general" but when I use the csys for "from and to" the copy it creates does not line up to the "to" csys. What it does is transform the object from point to point.

Move object does not create an associative copy. My current work around is to extract an associative copy of the object then move the copy.

Is the Instance Geometry removed from NX9? If it was removed, what is the replacement command?

TIA!

I must be missing something. Whenever I try to use the csys for "from" and "to" all the command does is move the object from point to point. I check the angles of the edges and they match. In the pic, the highlighted object is from the pattern geometry. It is not following the orientation of the csys.

On a different note... how do I fix the help files in nx9? I installed the help files but when I click on help, nothing shows up.

Nevermind...I found the orientation option. It wasn't expanded in the dialogue.

@Beserk, in regards to the help not working, do you get any error messages at all?
When you say 'when I click on help, nothing shows up.' What are you clicking on?

I made a video a while back about fixing issues with NX help: It covers the common issues I see our customers wrestle with.
