NX9 face blend

Hey everyone,
I have a little problem understanding the means by which I can make a set of faces smooth and uniform.
What I have is a set of sheets created with "through curve mesh" function, and the edges common to two or more sheets are visible or "sharp" (including tangent edges).
Can anyone please direct me to a place that explains how to blend these set of faces together so that in the end I have no sharp edges in my model?
I have tried using the "join face", "edge blend" and "quilt" commands and I am getting so much different errors that nothing at all works even remotely.
I am very confused. Please help me. Thanks in advance,

Can you post a screenshot, or better yet, an example file?

Rule #1 in surfacing: garbage in - garbage out. If the curves used to make the surfaces are not smooth/tangent/etc, the resulting surface won't be either.

Add to rule #1
Do not cut corners when creating the curves, if the curves are bad, the surfaces will be worse. There is no magic button on surfaces. ( -Unless you master the X-form and Match edges features.)

The Join faces will not smooth anything. It will only remove internal edges if this is possible. If the edges are sharp it is not possible.
The Quilt thing is a feature which drapes a b-surface over a number of faces, it tries to match the shape of the faces but if these faces contain ridges etc the result will not be pretty.

I was aware of this rule when I modelled it, though I am not sure if I did that correctly.
Here is the logical path of my idea:
- import .stl facet body
- perform section analysis to generate section splines
- use fit curve on each of the section splines specifying 3rd degree and tolerance to produce no more than 30 segments per curve (4 segments being the least)
- connect the fit curves with studio spline (3rd degree) producing "guides"
- use through mesh curve to generate surface from the fit curves and guides.

The surfaces look OK but the edges left between them do not.
The more complex parts of the model have been created by using "fit surface" command and them using "trimmed sheet".

The transitions from face to face may or may not be smooth, can't tell for sure based on the screenshot alone.

But...
If they are smooth, and you just don't like the black lines demarcating the faces, you can use a different rendering style. What you are using now is "shaded with edges", you can try switching to "shaded". The black lines you see are for visual cues only (to show face boundaries) and do not indicate the continuity of your surfaces.

Oh, I see how it works now.
Nevertheless, I for a fact know that in some areas the curvature is not possible simply because of the way how those areas were created.
Is there are a tool for that?
