i have been away from nx for a while
how do i hide the border in my drafting view?

It depends how it was put there, but try making its layer invisible

In the view settings there is an option to turn off the view border. The oldest version I have installed right now is NX 9 and everything got moved around in that version, so I don't remember the exact location for NX 8.

I cant seem to find where it is.

Does NX8 have the command finder ?

I think it's under Preferences -> Drafting -> View tab -> Display Borders. Note that this is an all on or all off setting.
