Hi,
I can use most of the Sheet metal tools, but not the Advance Flange.
Why is that?

The 'Advanced Flange' is part of the add-on 'Advanced Sheet Metal Design' module, as are all of the items found on the...

Insert -> NX Advanced Sheet Metal ->

...drop-down menu.

Note that most of these functions are also part of the more specialize 'Aerospace Sheet Metal' module.

Should I understand that the limited Sheet Metal access that I get is given by Siemens with other application(Modeling, Drafting, Assemblies)?

Sheet metal used to be a separate module requiring its own license. Siemens reworked the licensing scheme a few years(?) ago and created the 'bundles' we have today. It is my understanding that at that time, the basic sheet metal functionality was included in the same bundle as modeling. So if you have a modeling license you should have access to basic sheet metal license.

cowski is correct with respect to the fact that 'NX Sheet Metal' is now part of all bundles which includes a 'Modeling' module, however he's mistaken about the 'Aerospace Sheet Metal' module. Even if you had BOTH 'NX Sheet Metal' and an 'Aerospace Sheet Metal' license, this would NOT give you access to the functions found on the 'NX Advanced Sheet Metal' drop-down menu. Granted, you could always switch to the 'Aerospace Sheet Metal' module under...

Start -> All Applications -> Sheet Metal -> Aerospace Sheet Metal...

...and get access to basically these same functions, however, you would still need an 'Advanced Sheet Metal Design' license to access these functions FROM WITHIN basic 'NX Sheet Metal'.

I mistakenly thought 'advanced sheet metal' was synonymous with 'aerospace sheet metal'. Thanks for the correction, John.

So, basically there are 3 sheet metal licenses?
[ul][li]basic sheet metal (included if you have a modeling license)[/li]
[li]advanced sheet metal[/li]
[li]aerospace sheet metal[/li][/ul]

Correct, but remember, 'NX Sheet Metal' is pre-packaged in only the 'NX Mach Series Design' bundles:

However, if you're running so-called 'floating' licenses, that is licenses purchase À la carte, then you'll need to purchase separate 'Modeling' and 'NX Sheet Metal' licenses.
