I can't find any mention of it's absence on GTAC, and my ugii_env_ug.dat shows it (along with ANSYS and MSC Nastrans and a few others) listed with paths to folders that don't exist. I compared the Mac install to the Windows install and noticed that there's no "nxnastran" folder between "nxhuman" and "nxparts" the way that there is on Windows, so it appears not to have been installed. Checking the installer packages similarly confirms it's absence. Is there a separate installer that I can't find on GTAC? I noticed on NEi's Nastrans site mention of Mac binaries being available, so it doesn't appear to be a 3rd party problem.

Dear Michael,
NX runs in MAC platform, yes, but NX NASTRAN do not support the MAC platform, then not possible to install the NX NASTRAN software on Macintosh, it´s unavailable, a pity!.
Best regards,
Blas.

Thanks for the reply. I also confirmed it independently via GTAC (finally) as well as a verbal confirmation from one of Siemens' CAE tech support reps.

Given how much work it was to port the rest of the application to Mac OS X, I'm surprised that this seemingly small piece, which is largely numerical in nature anyway (not UI intensive) wasn't included, and there's apparently no plans to add it either. It appears to work on Linux, or at least there's no mention of it not working on GTAC that I could find, so it doesn't appear dependent on some MS proprietary libraries. I'm assuming this means it won't be coming in NX 9 (for Mac) either. Indeed, a pity, and for our small company, a major pain; the primary benefit of the Mac OS X version is significantly simpler machine support, but having to keep a virtual machine with the Windows version of NX handy for the few missing components cancels some of that out.
