Hi, in nx(8.5) I can assign a weight for a component.
What is the best way to assign/organize center of mass on a complex geometry (that component) - from some faces ?
Is there something like a center of some selected faces?
thanks in advance

You can do something like that using...

Analysis -> Advanced Mass Properties -> Mass using Curves and Sheets...

...however you'll need to first extract the desired faces as 'sheet bodies' for this to work.

Note that despite the name of this function, 'Advanced Mass Properties', this is really an older legacy function and while it will give you what you want, including a point at the centroid, it does not create any measurement features nor is the centroid associative.

thank you John on reply,
this (still) unigraphics function works as workaround- should be kept in assign weight as in i-deas.
I'm still not sure if this center of mass is working for the whole assembly (design + linked exterior)...
keep on testing - try to understand.
