I have noticed strange behavior when measuring distances and diameters in NX 9.0.1.3, in the modeling module. To replicate problem:
1. In the ribbon, click “measure distance.”
2. Select type “distance,” measure something, and press “ok”.
3. In the ribbon, click “more->simple diameter.”
4. A dialog box comes up which says “measure diameter” on the top but which has a type of “distance,” which does not actually make sense for a diameter measurement. (see screenshot)
5. If in the diameter dialog, you select and measure a diameter, then when “measure distance” is clicked in the ribbon, the box pops up with a type of “diameter,” the same problem in reverse.
I think many of the items in the measure portion of the analysis ribbon are linked similarly, such that clicking the desired option in the ribbon does not result in the expected measurement type in the dialog box.

If you can think it it can be modeled
