NX 9.0.1.3 Strange Behavior for Measuring Distances and Diameters

I have noticed strange behavior when measuring distances and diameters in NX 9.0.1.3, in the modeling module. To replicate problem:

1. In the ribbon, click “measure distance.”
2. Select type “distance,” measure something, and press “ok”.
3. In the ribbon, click “more->simple diameter.”
4. A dialog box comes up which says “measure diameter” on the top but which has a type of “distance,” which does not actually make sense for a diameter measurement. (see screenshot)
5. If in the diameter dialog, you select and measure a diameter, then when “measure distance” is clicked in the ribbon, the box pops up with a type of “diameter,” the same problem in reverse.

I think many of the items in the measure portion of the analysis ribbon are linked similarly, such that clicking the desired option in the ribbon does not result in the expected measurement type in the dialog box.

I'm not in a position to actually test NX 9.0.1.3 as I just installed NX 9.0.2.1 (first phase of the next MR) and I'm currently not in my office. That being said, I can NOT duplicate the behavior that you've described. To see what I'm seeing, plase watch the attached video.

John,
I made a movie to show the behavior. Any ideas when MR2 going to be released

I don't see the movie...

As for the release schedule of NX 9.0.2.x, if all goes well, you should see something a week or two before the Siemens PLM Connections event in Orlando.

I'm sorry, but I don't see anything even close to what I'm seeing in your video. Next week I'll be able to test NX 9.0.1.3 so I'll see if I can reproduce it then, but of course if I can't see this using NX 9.0.2.x I guess you could say that it's been resolved.

If that's the case then I am ok with that if not I just wanted to open a report so that it does get fixed but i generally ask the community before i bother GTAC

@RyanVLee,

I'm thinking it's to do with the role you're using or a dialog memory problem.
I looked at your video and below is an image showing your video and NX9.0.0 and NX9.0.1 on top.

The dialog you have is called Measure Distance, whereas on both of mine it's called Simple Diameter.
Subtle, but it tells me that the dialog you are using must be different, even though you're clicking on Simple Diameter.

FYI, I only just installed NX9 yesterday after a rebuild of my computer and the role being used is NX9 Advanced.

Its the force lower option that I have enabled in my UGII when i rem it out the problem goes away. PR6962741 says it was fixed but i guess not completely
