We just moved to NX8.5 When I double click and modify a Sketch in NX7.5 and edit a dimenions the model would update as I modify the dimension. What is this setting called in NX8.5? I am missing it somewhere. Thanks
I think the direct sketch environment updates the model immediately (as you make changes) and the sketch task environment updates the model after you finish the sketch. If I'm remembering correctly, check your settings (7.5 vs 8.5) for the "double click action for sketches" and "edit sketch action"; both found in customer defaults -> modeling -> general -> miscellaneous (bottom of page).
Those settings match. I have these both set the same. Still it takes a finish sketch before the sketch dimension modification to show on the 3D model. Thanks for help Cowski. I am still reviewing all of this stuff.
Found it with help from GTAC While in sketch go to Tools update Delay model update during sketch edit. Thanks for the help. It is always in the last place we look. Thanks for the Help.
Yes, in NX 8.0 we added some extra icons to the Direct Sketch toolbar, one of them being a toggle button which would turn ON/OFF an option to 'Delay Model Updates during Sketch Edit'. I believe this option is toggled ON (meaning that the auto update will NOT occur) by default. Note that if you want the NX 7.5 behavior, simply toggle this option OFF. Note that there is a companion icon added as well which even if you leave the Delay Update item toggled ON, you can update your model at any time by simply selecting the 'Update Model' icon next to the 'Delay Model Updates during Sketch Edit' icon.
Note that in Customer Defaults, at...
Customer Defaults -> Sketch -> General -> Sessions Settings
...you can set it so that this option is NOT ON by default.
