NX 8.5 shuts down when I try to use edge blend and chamfer tools

I am just learning NX 8.5 and when I try to use the edge blend and chamfer tool as soon as I click on the edge that I want to blend it will bring up the dialouge box that allows you to change the radius but then it says NX has stopped working and shuts down same thing happens with the chamfer tool the face tool works fine. Does any one have a solution or know what setting I may need to change.

Try doing a part cleanup after opening the file before you attempt the edge treatment.

At risk of sounding like an idiot how do I do that. today is only the 2nd day using the software. so I have not learned where many of the features are yet.

nevermind I found the clean up but that still did not stop the issue of shutting down

Anytime you get these sorts of errors you really should be contacting GTAC and have them look at some your syslogs from sessions which failed as you've described.

I would start by asking: are you using an Siemens official license here?
If yes, what MP are you on?
Never got that kind of behavior with NX8.5.2.3 so far...
