NX 8.5 - Assembly Component Name Change

Greetings,

I've created a couple of details that I named yyy.prt, then input those into my assembly. I now have to change the file name of the detail. Will my assembly keep relationship with the new file and drop relationship with the original?

It will if you perform a "save-as" when the part and the assembly are open.
Open your assembly, make your desired component the display part and go to file -> save as. Enter a new name for your component file; NX will then ask if you want to save-as the assembly file as well, cancel this dialog and OK the overall operation. Your assembly will now reference the newly saved file, save the assembly to keep the change.
