NX 7.5 load times in context of a very large master layout

Hello,

We are currently using NX7.5 and TC 8.3.
My load options are set to latest working, structure only loading, use partial loading = ON, Use Lightweight Representations = ON, Load interpart data = OFF.
Reference set order is set to Use Model, Entire Part, As Saved, Empty.

We have discovered some strange behavior in NX 7.5 with long load times in a large 50,000+ part master layout.

We have noticed that if we open a large module assembly, 10,000 parts all by itself, it opens in 17 minutes. Not in context of the 50,000 master model.

However, if I open this same 10,000 part assembly in context of the larger 50,000+ master model assembly it takes 44 minutes. It appears that NX is searching through the rest of the master layout structure and pre-loading common parts that exist within the 10,000 assembly and the rest of the assembly.

I have tried suppressing the unneeded assemblies of the larger 50,000+ assembly in hopes that NX would no longer parse through and pre-load the common parts, but to my suprise it seems NX is still searching through even the suppressed assemblies. I think that this bahavior is why loadtimes are increasing from 17 minutes to 44 minutes.

Am I understanding the NX load behavior correctly?

Is there a way to prevent this parsing or pre-loading of common parts in different parts of the master model assembly?

Perhaps a super suppression that truly hides the rest of the assembly.

Thanks,
Jason

NX will load a component in all locations of an assembly when you load a sub-assembly. That just makes sense since it is one session of NX running and the overall assembly knows about all of the sub-components.

That is what I was afraid of.

This makes sense on the days when I need to open the entire assembly, but often times I only open small subsets of the assembly. Therefore, this behavior is slowing down load times of these small assemblies.

Is there a way to toggle ON/OFF this bahavior?
